Charles Schwab Corporation board of director Chris Dodds has joined US crypto-exchange Coinbase’s board of directors. The news was announced in a Coinbase blog posted by its CEO, Brian Armstrong.
“His addition to the Coinbase board is part of our effort to expand our financial services capabilities as we head into this next chapter for the company and the cryptocurrency industry as a whole,” Armstrong wrote, continuing:
“Chris brings world-class leadership skills, deep knowledge of the financial services industry, and significant financial and accounting experience. His extensive expertise will be an asset to the Coinbase leadership team as we focus on scaling our business.”
Charles Schwab Corporation is one of the largest brokerage firms and bank in the U.S. It also has advisory service for institutional investors. Adding Chris Dodds to Coinbase is confirming that institutional investors are coming to the cryptocurrency space.
