According to the blog post announcing the launch, Akoin is not “a token for speculative traders, we are a token for Africa.”

Big moves to take Akoin to Africa and the world beyond is been made. There the launch of Akoin wallet which will enable distribution and transfer of AKN. Akoin also aims to power Mwale City. AKN will be accepted as a means of carrying out transaction throughout the city. AkoinCard will also be launched for daily transactional purposes.
